Giving to Help

When we focus on the needs of others, we regain perspective on our own circumstances and are given a sense of control of our future. Helping others can diminish our anxiety, build our self-confidence and provide an opportunity to begin a legacy.

The Campus Kitchen at Washington and Lee is one of the many university programs that bring together students, faculty and staff to serve the surrounding community. W&L’s Campus Kitchen volunteers combat hunger and promote nutrition by providing balanced meals for low-income families in Rockbridge County. The program in turn empowers W&L students as leaders in addressing nutrition and hunger issues that millions of people face across the country.

Your charitable contributions are a tangible way you can make a difference in the future of Washington and Lee. Thanks to generous donors like you, we can continue to provide a world-class education that includes life-changing experiences like volunteering for the Campus Kitchen to students with incredible potential to make a difference in the world.

A flexible option for supporting W&L is to include a charitable contribution in your estate plans. This can be as simple as adding a beneficiary designation to a bank or other financial account, or may involve adding a new provision in your will or trust

Our gift planners can discuss an estate gift as well as other tax-smart ways to adapt your charitable giving and accommodate your changing financial circumstances, including gifts that can provide income to you or others. We are here to help you shape a charitable gift plan that fits your needs.

We are grateful for your generous support and for your belief in the future of Washington and Lee. Please contact Jamie Killorin at 540-458-8429 or jkillorin@wlu.edu.
